I am a Dad on the run.  I live in central NC, originally from Upstate NY.  I began my quest for better fitness through running about four years ago.  I recently completed my 78th race, and I am still loving it!  I only decided recently to start blogging, mostly as a way for me to capture my thoughts, forcing me to write about them.  I hope to provide some inspiration to others, as much as I feel inspired by others in the running community.  I’ve run 23 marathons, and 30+ Half Marathons.  One of my main running goals is to complete each of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors including Tokyo, London, Boston, Berlin, Chicago and New York City.  I’m 1/3 of the way there!

  7. Hey there! I’m training for the Richmond Marathon in November and will be traveling to Fuquay Varina and I need to do 15 miles. Any suggestions on where I can go – with either some sidewalks or a nice paved trail? Everything I’m seeing online is like 30 minutes north. Thanks!!!

    • If you run downtown, you can find sidewalks, and plenty of streets to just run on without a whole lot of traffic troubles. Check out the race course for Run the Quay 10k, map it out, run it in a couple of loops. It’s a pretty area full of historic houses.
